A decade of teaching sustainable practice to the people who actually run the continent's enterprises — traders, manufacturers, cooperative chairs and chief executives.
ASBS Africa began in 2016 as a series of weekend clinics for traders and small manufacturers who kept being told to "go green" without anyone explaining what it would cost them.
Those first sessions set the method we still use: start from the business as it actually operates, work out what a sustainable version looks like on a real balance sheet, and only then talk about frameworks.
To educate, equip, and connect Africa's business leaders to build enterprises that create shared value for people, planet, and profit.
We envision a continent in which business success and sustainable development are treated as one and the same goal — where boardrooms, start-ups, cooperatives, and public institutions alike are led by people fluent in the economics, ethics, and science of sustainability.
We lead in service of community — success is measured by shared prosperity, not individual gain alone.
We hold ourselves and our partners to the highest standards of honesty, transparency, and accountability.
We measure success by the health of the ecosystems and communities our work touches, not only financial return.
We combine academic evidence with field-tested practice — no shortcuts, no greenwashing.
We actively expand access for women, youth, and underrepresented entrepreneurs across the continent.
We build across borders, languages, and sectors — believing Africa's challenges are best solved together.
